Colleges Near Hartford

Trinity College (29% admit) is Hartford's most selective school, but the metro's real anchor is the University of Connecticut, the state flagship, whose main campus in Storrs falls inside greater Hartford by federal definition. Central Connecticut State in New Britain, the University of Hartford and the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, and UConn's own downtown Hartford campus fill out the rest of the list. One note before the list: Wesleyan University, in Middletown about 15 miles south, is often thought of as a Hartford-area school but is counted as part of the New Haven metro, so it isn't included here.
