Colleges Near Charlotte

Charlotte's most selective option by far is Davidson College (13% admit, in the suburb it's named for), a small liberal-arts school that punches well above the metro's overall college-going profile. The rest of the list splits between Charlotte's own public and private options (UNC Charlotte, Johnson C. Smith, Queens University) and a short reach across the state line to Rock Hill's Winthrop University -- a reminder that "Charlotte metro" by federal definition already crosses into South Carolina.
