Colleges Near Providence

Providence's two most selective schools share a hill on the city's East Side: Brown University (5% admit) and the Rhode Island School of Design (19%), which run a joint dual-degree program between them. Providence College (51%) is the other selective option in the city itself, and the rest of the metro spreads across the whole state -- the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, Salve Regina in Newport, Bryant in Smithfield, Roger Williams in Bristol. One note before the list: this metro's federal definition also reaches across the state line into southeastern Massachusetts, so Stonehill, Wheaton (Massachusetts), and UMass Dartmouth appear here rather than on the Boston page.
