Colleges Near Atlanta

One note before the list: the University of Georgia, the state's flagship and most recognizable name, isn't part of the Atlanta metro by federal statistical definition -- Athens-Clarke County is its own separate metro area, about an hour east. Within Atlanta itself, Emory (11% admit) and Georgia Tech (14%) anchor the selective end, and Spelman and Morehouse -- two of the country's most influential HBCUs, across the street from each other -- add a third distinct selective option most metros on this list don't have.
