Per Compass Education Group's confirmed reporting, Alaska's Class of 2027 Semifinalist cutoff is 208, down 7 points from the Class of 2026 -- the single largest one-year decline of any state in the country. The full state-by-state list shows Alaska tied at that exact number with West Virginia, Montana, North Dakota, and Wyoming -- the lowest confirmed cutoff anywhere in the country, 15 points below the national high of 223.
Five states, one number, zero shared borders
Alaska has no land border with any other U.S. state, and its cutoff-tier company is scattered across the opposite side of the continent:
