Johns Hopkins (6% admit) and the U.S. Naval Academy (9%, in Annapolis) are two of the most selective schools on this entire list, sitting in the same metro as Coppin State and Morgan State, two of Maryland's HBCUs -- a wide range packed into one page. One note: Mount St. Mary's University, in Emmitsburg, is often assumed to be Baltimore-area but is actually in Frederick County, part of the Washington, DC metro by federal definition -- left off this list for that reason.
